KISHKINDHA KAND
Kishkindha Kand deals mainly with the power of friendliness. If one has good
many friends from every walk of life, his interest remains well cared and well
protected. That is why for better statesmanship establishing warm friendly
relation make one stronger and also creating any rift in
friendly relation of enemy country makes the enemy weaker and it
becomes easy to defeat the enemy. To establish friendship and to presume
friendship, it requires to give all out support moral, physical, material and immaterial
and take the sufferings of his friend more seriously than his own suffering.
Ram being defeated the mighty army of Kher and Dushan and killed both the
brothers sent a message much beyond the boundary of the forest to Ravan. Also,
the message reached Kishkindha, the capital of the great King Bali and his
exiled brother Sugriva. Sugriva was exiled by his mighty brother Bali and he used
to reside on a mountain along with his wisest minister Hanuman where Bali could
not have gone due to certain curse of a Muni. Since Sugriv was suffering
exilement and heard of Rama's nobility, his compassion for suffering people and
uncommon warfare skill, he sent Hanuman his wisest minister, to know of the mind
of Ram and establish good rapport with him if he could be of some help to him
in recovering his lost kingdom and his wife. Hanuman met with Ram and Ram was
very much influenced with the wisdom and caliber of Hanuman. He found
proposition of Hanuman very good and favorable for mutual trust and mutual
cooperation. So, with the help of Hanuman friendship was established between Ram and
Sugriv. Ram took oath to kill Bali and appoint him the King of
Kishkindha and Sugriv in turn should explore the where about of Sita. Ram
fulfilled his commitment by killing Bali and Sugriv was appointed the King of
Kishkindha. Later with the help of Sugriv all round search for Sita was conducted
in the leadership of Angad, the son of Bali and crown prince (yuvraj) of
Kishkindha. Jamwant, the most senior, experienced and valiant minister of Sugriv,
found Hanuman most pertinent, brave, wise, capable and controller of all the ten
senses and his mind for the most tedious task because Lanka was so fortified by
natural location and being guarded by strong and wise warriors and spies that it
was not possible any enemy to slip into the territory of Lanka.
